NEW ALBUM OUT SOON!
Ladies and gentlemen, we are happy to announce that we will be releasing our second album in May. It will consist of 12 songs, 9 songs written by us and 3 surprise cover songs.
It would be fair to assume, without any exaggeration that this album will probably be one of the greatest albums ever produced in the history of Norwegian jazz... Promo vids coming soon.

The last banditt has arrived, and Oslo is once again the centre from where Jazzbanditt is planning world domination.
This fall our main focus will be on the pre-production of our new album. We are writing, rehearsing and arguing like never before, and having the time of our life.
The difficult second album is expected to be finished early 2013.
SAMOIS SUR SEINE 2012
Knut, Xavier and David
Anyone who has ever been to the Django Reinhardt Festival at Samois knows that there is some kind of magic happening all around you. I can't put my finger on exactly what that magic is, but I'm sure it has something to do with the sun, the camp, the beers and the jams...

JAZZBANDITT IS PLAYING MOLDEJAZZ 2012!
Oh yeah! For three nights in a row Jazzbanditt will overindulge in a plethora of Gypsy Jazz, Mainstream Jazz and otherwise just pure madness.
This will be a Jazzbanditt venture with a twist. At one point during the concert we will expand the ensemble and go electric! With the help from our dear colleagues Marcus Lewin (Drums) and Lars Frank (Sax) this will be a night, no sorry, three nights to remember.
Takin' ovva!
An era is over... Nine months have passed and Knut (my main man) has moved back to the old country. There remains but one jazzbanditt left in The City of Light.
These nine months have been an incredible experience and in this time we have evolved from nervous little foreign creatures to full bred joueurs, part of the city and part of the scene. We've made some new friends and we have learned so much, I can't even begin to describe.
And with this new knowledge and experience Jazzbanditt has truly developed into a group that can hold it's own. There will be a lot of surprises coming in the following months so stay with us. We're taking over...
SECOND TIME AROUND
Another weekend of celebration has passed, and Cosmopolite Stage has once again proven that it's a force to be reckoned with in the gypsy jazz scene of the world. They provided an impressive musical variety this year with inviting artists such as Samarabalouf and Pierre Manetti who both are operating in their own end of the genre.
And we were there!!!
That's right. We were invited back after a successful performance (phew) in 2011, and this time we got to invite a friend. After about 30 seconds of really tough decision making we finally landed on him, the violinist, the one and only, our man in Paris, the one with the swedish girlfriend: Monsieur Aurélien Trigo!
Not only is he one of the nicest guys we've known, he is also a pretty awesome violin player. It was a thrill to see (hear) him battling it out on stage with our own violinist from the days of yore Gaute Skrove. They both warmed up in their own way on the opening song I'll remember april, only to kick it off on the following number Bluesette. Doing a 4-4, a chase and ending up in unis one would think one peaked too early in the show. One would be mistaken... After a roller coaster ride of fast and medium originals (even one by Trigo himself which he introduced in swedish!) the time had come to unveil a softer and mellower side. And what better way to do that than to bring Mr Gieg back to life with the spirit of Django and play Danse Norvegienne. The night then just turned magical. A dreamy sigh swept through the audience as the jazzy strokes married the classical in perfect harmony and they literally lived happily ever after... We then decided to bring the house down old school style and let it rip with Hungaria and Cherokee. Fast... The crowd goes wild... Bow... Sortie...
Ok, we're laying it on a bit thick now. But, it really was a great night, a night to remember and well worth writing about!
Le Styx: The jam, the myth, the madness
As we have experienced at this point, Paris is a city of beauty, a city of culture and tradition where the people are proud and humble. It is also a city of great diversity and development. Similar to The Latin Quarters before it, in recent years the magnificent quartier of Le Maraishas bloomed and become a new centre with top notch restaurants, bars and cafees, museums and shopping. We lived there for three months and loved it!
Since mid October however, we live in Oberkampf! And what's cool is, we can experience at first hand a new quartier coming into bloom. It is happening as we speak.
Oberkampf? What kind of a ridiculous name is that? You might ask….. Well that's another story and it doesn't fit here right now. Take our word for it. Oberkampf is the shizzle right now!
Oberkampf is also a haven for Gypsy Jazz lovers and players and in the centre of it rules Le Styx. This place has it all. The look, the food, the drinks, the owner..., the jam and the after hour basement sessions...
Michael Gimenez (after hours in the basement)
At Le Styx every night is different and pretty much anything can happen. There are an abundance of guitarists, of violinists, of singers and of "the brass people". Jams can be intimate with only two guys (and girls) playing or you can have an ensemble of cosmic proportions blowing it out like nothing else. The genres top players can suddenly pop in for a song or two or for a whole night of magic.

The small but hilarious tour of 2011
Oslo Jazz Festival, Saras Telt
First stop Oslo.

Smack in the middle of Oslo's busiest tourist street Karl Johan. Among the street musicians, the drunk and loud british people watching the match in pubs, the beggars, the tourists and all the pretty girls two things would stick out: The Norwegian Parliament and Jazzbanditt... Now, fortunately for everyone, one of them will always be there and the other one is just passing through.
The Nighthawk Diner
Next stop... Oslo?
That's right people! Why end something that resembles the start of a magnificent winning-streak? We've tread beyond The Nighthawk Diner's border of doom so many times now we've lost count. Every time we come out the other side we feel like we are over a year older and equally wiser, exhausted, and lucky to be alive. We would't miss it for the world!

Kragerø is the southernmost municipality in Telemark. To the southwest, it borders the municipality of Risør; to the west is Gjerstad; to the northwest is Drangedal; and to the northeast is Bamble.
Kragerø is popular among Norwegians (as well as foreigners) as a vacation destination during the summer, when the population swells considerably (approx. 250% increase).[citation needed]
Villages in Kragerø include Helle, Sannidal, Skåtøy, Jomfruland, and Portør.

Last stop Sarpsborg! Marròn Restaurant & Bar

The jazz club in Sarpsborg is doing an awesome job! They arrange concerts and jams throughout the year and contribute to keeping the music scene alive and thriving.
